(((PERFORMANCE ON AIR))) explores the transmission of performances through the medium of radio. The speakers describe the performances in real-time to the radio audience. We are not necessarily interested in a precise description of what is happening, but also see this format as a platform for new, sometimes independent audio works. The result can vary greatly depending on the speaker — ranging from very realistic to more abstract or poetic. This allows listeners to engage with the performances in different ways: by imagining what is heard, focusing on the rhythm of the speech flow, or paying attention to the language itself.
(((PERFORMANCE ON AIR))) erkundet die Übermittlung von Performances durch das Medium Radio. Die Sprecher*innen beschreiben die Performances in Echtzeit für das Radiopublikum. Dabei interessiert uns nicht unbedingt die genaue Beschreibung von dem was geschieht, sondern wir nutzen es als Format für neue, teils eigenständige Audio Arbeiten. Das Resultat kann je nach Sprecher*in sehr realistisch, eher abstrakt oder vielmehr poetisch sein. Dies lässt die Zuhörer*innen auf ganz verschiedene Weisen an den Performances teilnehmen, einmal mit dem Fokus auf das Imaginieren des Gehörten, einmal auf den Rhythmus des Sprachflusses, einmal auf die Sprache selbst.
(((PERFORMANCE ON AIR))) explore la transmission de performances à travers le média radio. Les intervenant(e)s décrivent les performances en temps réel au public radio. Nous ne sommes pas nécessairement intéressé(e)s par une description précise de ce qui se passe, mais nous voyons aussi dans ce format de nouvelles œuvres audio, parfois autonomes. Le résultat peut varier selon l’intervenant(e) — allant du très réaliste à l’abstrait ou plutôt poétique. Cela permet aux auditeur(trice)s de participer aux performances de différentes manières : en imaginant ce qu’ils entendent, en se concentrant sur le rythme du flux verbal, ou en prêtant attention à la langue elle-même.
