The Live Art project and performances of Wathiq Al-Ameri and Ali Al-Fatlawi reflect and challenge the western attitudes to Iraq and Iraqi culture – the fears and expectations and the dread arising from civil casualties, border-crossings and the psychological pressure expressed in physical gestures. The mortal as part of everyday life, dealing with war acts, lost lives and the role of memory are important subjects.

Wathiq Al-Ameri and Ali Al-Fatlawi won the Swiss Performance Art Award in 2011, which was followed by the prestigious Swiss Art Award 2012.
